Who We Are

Dr. Sarah Boak, DPT, OCS
Sarah is a dedicated outdoor athlete who understands the unique injuries and challenges of returning to high performance in mountain sports. Before becoming a PT at Columbia University, Sarah was a PSIA Certified Ski Instructor and National Ski and Bike Patrol first aide responder. Sarah is passionate about helping people feel their best and achieve their goals. She focuses on return to sport for recreational and competitive athletes, including running analysis. Besides orthopedics and sports medicine, she also has experience working with motor vehicle collision patients, post-surgical patients, patients with acute injuries and patients with chronic pain. Her treatment style combines manual therapy and modalities such as dry needling with patient education, movement pattern optimization and targeted exercises.

Dr. Anne Buchwald, DPT
Anne is a Clinical Pilates Instructor and movement polyglot with personal and professional experience in athletics, musical performance, dance, and functional movement optimization. Anne is passionate about targeting underlying movement patterns and developing precise motor control while improving strength, conditioning, and core stability, as well as preventing and treating injuries. Besides orthopedics and sports/performing arts medicine, she also has experience working with neurological patients, medically-complex patients, post-surgical patients, patients with injuries, pelvic floor dysfunction, and chronic pain. Her treatment style tends to integrate targeted therapeutic exercises and stretches with a variety of skilled manual therapy techniques.
Dr. Buchwald and Dr. Boak have been friends since PT school at Columbia University in New York City. Both share a love of winter sports, mountain sports and physical therapy, and they are thrilled to introduce Après Ski PT!
